Earlier this week the whole gang packed up for a day in the state of Zacatecas capital city… Zacatecas.
We went on a tour of a silver mine where we wore hard hats and funny hair nets. I have no inside pictures because it's dark inside a mine, in case you haven't been inside of one. Here's a link to the website for the mine "El Eden". It's a pretty cool website and you can see pictures of the night club that sits deep in the mine. Yesh. Night club. I am not cool enough to have ever gone. Maybe someday. Or maybe not.
They have a really beautiful mineral and fossil exhibit that Iggy did not let me enjoy.
From there we took a scary a** ride up to the top of a bluff otherwise known as the famous Cerro de la Bufa.
"I have to go on that!?" -Iggy
"Yes" -his nervous momma
I only smile this big when I fear for my life. Ian's like whatevs.
We made it, you guys! And isn't the view so worth it? Mm...
There were lots of shops, which is good because I'm really, really good at shopping.
Iggy was a good sport and sat and enjoyed the view with his grandma. I couldn't pick a favorite so here are all three.
There are several Huichol artisans selling goods of which I bought a plenty.
I bought all these things. In my dreams.
Yes, that is a giant Pancho Villa.
My family took some old timey photos. Adorable, right?
I mean, seriously.
We traveled back down into the center of town for dinner.
We finished off the evening with coffee, a double decker bus tour, and a walk around one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.
This view will never get old.
